    Yin

Where were you born? Year, Country, State. Where do you live currently

I was birthed in Phoenix, Arizona in 1991.

What initially drew you to drawing pretty pictures

My pictures aren't necessarily 'pretty'. Hah. I'd say it started when I was a small child and realized there was so much to express just by laying down a few lines on a piece of paper. So much emotion to be drawn out, and I loved how it was all so subjective.

Who is your favorite skateboarder, living or dead? Any ties to skateboarding

I had mostly gotten into old videos of Stacy Peralta and Rodney Mullen when I was younger. When I was living in Eugene in later years, the people I knew that skateboarded there were pretty inspiring to me. I myself don't skateboard, though I do appreciate it greatly.

Who is your favorite artist, living or dead?

Oh so many! As far as the living go, I'd have to say Brian M. Viveros. Out of the dead variety- Salvador Dali.

When you're not creating amazing works of art, what do you enjoy doing

Enjoying music, nature, other people's art. Going out for some good beer and good company. Exploring, tree hugging, questioning everything and making weird faces with accompanying noises.

    Who are your biggest influences

Everything and everyone around me is an influence in one way or another, really. To be honest, I find that sometimes strangers can be just as influential as someone I hold dear to me if given the opportunity.

What mediums do you enjoy working in?

Mostly charcoal and pastels. Occasionally ink is thrown into the mix. I rarely use paint, since my vision is usually best translated through black and white creations.

Anything else you want to tell?

It has been a really fun (and slightly frustrating) experience painting a deck for this show. I'm super grateful and really excited to see how it all turns out!
