Jeremy Hush

Where were you born? Year, Country, State. Where do you live currently

I was born in San Diego CA in 1973. But only stayed about 6 months. My family was Navy so we moved constantly. Never stayed put. As I grew older I stayed on the move.

What initially drew you to drawing pretty pictures

I've always been drawing. Just couldn't sit still. Had to be fidgeting with something. So I drew all the time. Anywhere and everywhere I would be doodling on any scrap of paper that was in front of me.

Who is your favorite skateboarder, living or dead? Any ties to skateboarding

When I was younger I really liked Christian Hosoi. He was always in high air competitions. I still prefer old school skating. Not that I am any good. I still skate some here and there. But not like I used to

Who is your favorite artist, living or dead?

Hard to pick a favorite. Hieronymus Bosch has always been a huge influence to my work. Always will be. He packs in so much tiny detail. Tons of hidden things everywhere.

When you're not creating amazing works of art, what do you enjoy doing

I have a million hobbies that keep me super busy. Otherwise it's urban exploration, riding motorcycles and being punk!

Who are your biggest influences

Everything around me is an influence. I really love 18-19th century illustration and gothic revival architects. Grew up on comics and punk zines. And Animals. I have always had a lo of animals in my life. Large and small.

What mediums do you enjoy working in?

I mostly work in ball point pen and watercolor.

Anything else you want to tell?

Do what you love! If it's not fun it's not worth doing!
