Where were you born? Year, Country, State. Where do you live currently?

I was born in 1986 in Southern California and have worked and lived out of here my whole life. I currently live in Torrance, CA.

What initially drew you to drawing pretty pictures?

I had a baby sitter when I was very young who encouraged a lot of coloring and was pretty strict on coloring in between the lines. I just always enjoyed trying to draw, plus my dad was a good artist when he was younger but gave it up because those days in England it wasn't really looked at as a career path. So, I would always make him draw me pictures. That initially led me to creating my own cartoons, and making collages, etc.

Who is your favorite skateboarder, living or dead? Any ties to skateboarding?

I probably have to say Rodney Mullen, just because those Rodney Mullen vs. Daewong Song videos were huge when I was in middle school. I just couldn't get over his tricks and his perfectionism. Also, I just find him fascinating as a human being in the way he looks at the world.

Who is your favorite artist, living or dead?

That is a tough one to answer only because I love all different types of art, and there is so much good art out there now; or I should say, easier to find because of social media like instagram. I have to say though, my favorite artist will always be Greg "Craola" Simkins. He was definitely my art hero growing up, and has easily had the biggest influence on my life and art career.

When you're not creating amazing works of art, what do you enjoy doing?

I wish I could say I go sky diving or paddle board with great whites (which is actually a reality at our local beach now) But I just like watching movies or good HBO shows. I've had people over consistently for the last couple years, with anywhere from 1-15 people. They bring over a craft beer and do a little bottle share. That's my favorite kind of thing. I also like just driving around with my fiance listening to music on our days off.

Who are your biggest influences?

Greg Simkins, Bob Dob, Alex Pardee, Dave Correia, JAW Cooper, Josh Keyes, Esao Andrews, Jeremy Geddes, Joel Rea, Gustavo Rimada, and James Jean to name a few. These are artist's that are constantly inspiring me to work harder and get better.

What mediums do you enjoy working in?

I paint in acrylic, and I love it for the most part. The drying time is a love hate thing...I also just started using a graphite powder that I am really enjoying. I also really like spray painting, but that's something I only tried recently, it just feels very intuitive to me.

Anything else you want to tell?

Yes! painting on this deck was awesome, I am so excited to be a part of this show and can't wait to see all the decks!
