Who is your favorite artist, living or dead?
I have always admired comic artists Joe Quesada, Todd McFarlane, Alex Ross, Jeff Smith, Rob Schrab, Sam Keith, Mark Texeira, Doug Mahnke but have also been drawn to the works of Salvador Dali, H.R. Geiger, Vincent Van Gogh, Bruce Ricker, and too many more to mentioned. Ok fine, I’ll mention more: Fernando Chamarelli, My Dog Sighs, CZR PRZ, J.C. Rivera, Sentrock, Forsaken, Shepherd Fairey, Banksy and God (or whoever created Koi fish).
When you're not creating amazing works of art, what do you enjoy doing?
I am an illustrator/graphic designer by trade, currently getting into web/app design. I enjoy eating sandwiches. They are delicious.
Who are your biggest influences?
My wife and children inspire me to never give up or give in to settling for less. Creating art > less.
What mediums do you enjoy working in?
I enjoy photoshop and illustrator, but really love non-traditional materials for my art- rocks, wood, stain, spray paint, concrete, plants, body parts, metal, found objects and lasers, frickin’ lasers!
Anything else you want to tell?
I have a darker sense of humor (I would consider it a medium roast) and always try to incorporate it into anything that I do. I have always wanted to do what I love for a living, incorporating it into some sort of charitable effort that will make sure I don’t spend eternity in Purgatory. Also, I love puppies.
Where were you born? Year, Country, State. Where do you live currently?
I was born and raised in Chicago. I currently live a stone’s throw from the city.
What initially drew you to drawing pretty pictures?
Both of my parents are artists and I have always had a hankering for doodling during history and theology classes. Maybe that’s why I keep repeating the same damned mistakes. Ok, that one flew over my head too.
Who is your favorite skateboarder, living or dead? Any ties to skateboarding?
Bart Simpson is pretty rad. I had a Variflex when I was younger, but never quite mastered the ollie. I pretty much just played Hit the Deck and used my board as a Go Kart down steep hills.
